This exam will be administered from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2026.\u00a0 Make sure that you are practicing the questions with the exam date that applies to you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Currently, the Technician Exam costs $15, payable to the ARRL VEC at the time of testing. \u00a0 If you don\u2019t pass the first time, you\u2019ll need to pay $15 each time you take it. You may retake the test up to three times in a single session, but there is an additional $15 fee for each additional test. \u00a0Once you pass your test and the paperwork is submitted to the FCC, you will receive an e-mail to pay the $35 filing fee to the FCC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0The day you pass the Technician exam, you will have the option to try to pass the General Exam immediately afterword at no additional charge. In addition to this, any revised or new material won\u2019t be in an outdated book.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Most people buy the exam books from www.arrl.org \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The current book for the Technician exam is \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/home.arrl.org\/action\/Store\/Product-Details\/productId\/2003373064\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 5<sup>th<\/sup> Edition<\/a>.\u201d ISBN: 978-1-62595-155-7<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The next level license is the General class. The General Book is \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/home.arrl.org\/action\/Store\/Product-Details\/productId\/2009476073\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The ARRL General Class License Manual for Ham Radio<\/a>\u201d. ISBN: 978-1-62595-171-7 \u00a0It will contain all of the material you\u2019ll need to pass the exam dated from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2027.<\/p>\n<h4>Practice Tests Online<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamstudy.org\">www.hamstudy.org<\/a> is an excellent option to help prepare and study for your test. \u00a0You can review questions based on topic, review hints and tricks provided by the community and take practice exams at any time. It&#8217;s available on the web or in an iOS or Android app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.qrz.com\/hamtest\">www.qrz.com\/hamtest<\/a>\u00a0 QRZ is a popular web site for hams.\u00a0 Register as a guest, then you can practice your test online and it will hold your scores.\u00a0 Their program will give you several random computer generated questions that will be on your test.\u00a0 You can take as many practice tests as you like.\u00a0 Here again, make sure that you are taking the latest test version which will include the date of your exam. (ex: Technician Class 2022 Pool)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/examreview\">www.arrl.org\/examreview<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 The ARRL has launched a new online resource that allows users to take randomly generated practice exams using questions from the actual examination question pool. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/examreview\"><strong>ARRL Exam Review for Ham Radio<\/strong><\/a>\u2122 is <em>free<\/em>, and users do <em>not<\/em> need to be ARRL members. The only requirement is that users must first set up a site login (this is a different and separate login from your ARRL website user registration).<\/p>\n<h4>Download or Print Off Question Pools<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/question-pools\">http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/question-pools<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Go to the above web page and download or print off the question pools for your exam.\u00a0 Remember to print off or download the schematic drawings that will also be on your test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00a0Files containing the question pool are available in PDF (Portable Document Format), Microsoft Word .DOC format, and .TXT format. \u00a0Three figures are used in the pool, and these are available as separate .jpeg and .pdf files.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Your exam will only include 35 questions, out of about 500.\u00a0 You will print off about 90 pages of questions which will cover EVERY QUESTION AND ANSWER possible.<\/p>\n<h4>Ham Radio Classes Online &#8211; HAM Test Online\u2122<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamradiolicenseexam.com\/study.jsp\">https:\/\/www.hamradiolicenseexam.com\/study.jsp<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Many people have chosen to study using this program.\u00a0 A 2-year subscription to the Technician course is $24.95.\u00a0 They practically guarantee that you\u2019ll be successful after completing their program, and you have up to two years to study using it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Go to this website and try their <u>free ham radio practice test for the Technician Exam<\/u>.\u00a0 Create an account to save your question history in the database so you can come back later and continue where you left off.\u00a0 It\u2019s free.\u00a0 Their free ham radio practice test for the Technician Exam covers the electrical portion of the test; often the most difficult part to understand.<\/p>\n<h4>HAM Radio License Preparation Classes Through Local Radio Clubs<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/find-an-amateur-radio-license-class\">http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/find-an-amateur-radio-license-class<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">ARRL can help you find an Amateur Radio license preparation class in your community.
