The 2026 Sioux Falls Hamfest is happening Saturday, July 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3801 E 26th St, Sioux Falls. Doors open at 8:00 AM, the event wraps at noon, and admission is free.
This year’s hamfest is also the ARRL South Dakota State Convention, so expect a full morning of swap tables, license testing, and three forum sessions.
Swap Tables
Swap tables are free — no registration, no fee. Space is first come, first served, so show up early if you want a spot. Note: vendors need to bring their own table; the church does not provide them. Buyers and browsers are welcome all morning.
Forum Schedule
- 9:00 AM — ARRL Update: What’s happening at the League — programs, regulatory news, and what it means for South Dakota hams.
- 10:00 AM — Parks on the Air (POTA): An introduction to POTA and what makes it a good reason to get the radio off the shelf and into the field.
- 11:00 AM — Meshtastic: An overview of Meshtastic mesh networking — how it works, what hams are doing with it, and whether it belongs in your go-kit.
License Testing
Testing session registration opens at 9:30 AM; testing starts at 10:00 AM. The exam fee is $15.
What to bring:
- Government-issued photo ID
- Your FRN (FCC Registration Number)
- Payment for the $15 fee
