Back by popular demand! You're all invited to the Big Sioux Recreation Park in Brandon,SD on Saturday 8/12. A group will be setting up radio stations to promote the hobby, make some contacts, and have some fun. There is a fee for park entrance unless you've already got your annual park pass. We'll start playing radio around 9am and will kick things off by checking into the Saturday morning net. From there, we'll plan to start making POTA (Parks on the Air) contacts, so if you're unable to attend, please get on the air and hunt our activators. If you'd like to hunt these stations please find us on the POTA website @ parksontheair.com/ and click on POTA Spots. From there you can use the filtering to search bands, etc. We're going to try to secure the large picnic shelter, but I'd suggest bringing the following.Things to bring:-Comfortable chair-Food to grill - grill will be provided, but you're expected to bring your own food.-Drinks-Sunscreen-Radio - there will be a couple stations, so you will be able to operate a station if you don't have one or just want to get on the airFor those that are licensed, we'll plan to use 146.520 as our primary frequency so if you need help finding us, get on 52!All are welcome to join us. License or no license, so please pass this along to any and all interested in learning more about Amateur Radio.Hope to see you there! ... See MoreSee Less
